I attended beauty school at the European Institute of Cosmetology under the direction of NAHA Award winning and infamous hairstylist Ryan Teal. Upon graduation I wanted to build upon my skills, I did a two year apprenticeship and headed to the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Toronto, Canada to become a precision cutting specialist. Not to toot my own horn, but not everyone knows how to do that. It is hard, takes a keen eye, and uses certain body positioning and shear control. Why does this matter? It works with the shape of the hair and the natural way the hair falls, allowing a cut that makes for effortless styling.
Most recently I have been trained in Bumble and Bumble styling – a company whose education has surpassed many other company’s in recent years. Even though I no longer use B&B, I can give you one mean blow out. Siblab product knowledge – a company based out of Portland with a big heart and amazing love of hair. I have attended countless Goldwell color classes, a color line used by many top salons for its longevity and gently chemical make-up. This helps curb my appetite for learning AND this way I can custom mix colors for a person. …so that no one else in Portland will have that shade of brown, that prefect balance between a warm and cool blonde. To be perfectly honest, this is a truly selfish purpose because I love to see people’s faces light up when I get it just right.
Enough shop talk, on a more personal note; I love meeting new people. I love bright colors. I am a hopeless romantic, even when my love life is non-existent. I have a weakness for musicals and animation. I have the naughtiest little dog, Delila, that I will talk your ear off about because I absolutely adore her. And I want to meet you. And do your hair.
