Some Very Important Facts about Mandy:

1-Was the host of a children's tv show in 6th grade. Same year she met and fell in love with her current husband.
2-Was the editor of the high school newspaper. Also DJ'd on the high school radio station.
3-Was voted Most Unique of her Class of 1995.
4-Attended college and was set to play softball, but never made it to softball season.
5-Attended Beauty School only as a way to get out of paying her mother rent.
6-Chose to stick with hair as it seemed hairstylists never grew up, as growing up is still something Mandy is adamantly opposed to.
7-Bought first house at 25, bought one of Portland's largest salon's in the Pearl at 27.
8-Her favorite people are her man, step kids, sister, and nephew. May love pilates more. And don't forget food, yeh, food is tops.

Years in the hair business: 12

Mandy's haircutting training lies in having been a Rusk Designer, studying under National Artist Tatjanna Cypionka. Her color training was with Danielle Tealle, a NAHA award winning stylist. In 2004 Zelinka was given the incredible opportunity to start 77 with business partner Jessica Hedges. Together they grew it from an empty salon to be voted by Citysearch as Portland’s top salon in 2007. 2010 has brought a career defining choice. Zelinka decided to retire from salon ownership. While making the right decisions for the salon, Zelinka felt she decided to focus solely on working behind the chair, finding solace in a smaller, more intimate space, Ginger Salon.
